Conway Norwood, III

Conway Norwood, III blesses Detroit Gospel.com with his enthusiasm and appreciation for gospel's "new school." He holds a B.S. in Telecommunication & Film from Eastern Michigan University where he worked as a staff writer for the University publication, "The Eastern Echo." Currently, Conway works as an engineer at WMUZ (103.5 FM, 1340 AM, and 560 AM) and attends Greater Grace Temple (O.G. Hayes Memorial) in Taylor, MI, where his pastor is Suffragan Bishop Gary Harper. Conway serves in his home church as a youth minister, assistant to the Youth Chairman, and President of the Youth Choir. Conway tells us, "I've been saved for almost seven years, and having grown up with the explosion of secular hip-hop, I understand how much of an impact that hip-hop can have in contemporary gospel music. I believe that urban and hip-hop gospel music has as much of an impact, if not more, on today's generation of believers and potential believers as traditional gospel music." You can see why we at Detroit Gospel.com are so pleased to have Conway on our staff as our resident, Urban / Hip-Hop Gospel writer. Most recently Conway has taken on assistant editor duties (for which the editor is extremelly grateful).
