First Lady MaLinda Sapp, co-pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids, and wife of pastor and gospel artist Marvin Sapp, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010, from complications from cancer. Our prayers go out to the Sapp family and entire Lighthouse Full Life Center Church family during their time of bereavement.

Lighthouse Full Life Center Church had been praying around the clock for Lady Sapp via a 24-hour prayer-line, and had planned a city-wide prayer for this evening. E-blasts that went out regarding Lady Sapp’s condition, and the church website, indicated that “until recently specialists had indicated that her infirmity was resolved but she has recently been advised it is now trying to resurface.”

In 2009, Lady Sapp was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, however, following treatment, she was pronounced cancer-free in early 2010.

In addition to her role as Administrative Pastor of Lighthouse, Dr. Malinda Sapp was a Master’s level psychologist, licensed professional counselor, dynamic speaker, served as a college professor, and was the mother of three young children, Marvin II, Mikaila and Madisson.

News of Lady Sapp’s passing was announced earlier today on Praise Houston, 92.1-FM in Houston. Homegoing service information will be forthcoming.

Let’s all be sure to keep Pastor Marvin Sapp, their children, family members, friends and the entire Lighthouse Full Life Center church family lifted in prayer.
