Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir (Website: www.brooklyntabernacle.org)
This culturally diverse choir is one of America's most loved and awarded choirs. In 1972 Pastor Jim Cymbala and his wife Carol came to the Brooklyn Tabernacle where the congregation was 15-20 people. About a year later Carol started a choir with nine people. Today, the choir has over 200 voices and 6,000 people worship at Brooklyn Tabernacle every week. As a recording group, the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir has sold three million albums and has won several Grammy and Dove Awards. Their most recent project, "I'm Amazed....Live," released in September 2005, showcases this legendary choir and features inspirational stories, as well as special guest appearances by Donnie McClurkin, Jason Crabb and Luther Barnes.

James Hall and Worship & Praise (Website: www.jhwap.com)
Born in Brooklyn, James Hall exhibited his impressive musical talents at an early age. In addition to being able to play the piano by ear, James is a renowned soloist, and accomplished director. In 1987, he formed the choir ensemble "Worship & Praise" and together they went on to record their debut project, "God Is In Control," which became a Billboard Magazine Gospel Chart top-10 hit. James Hall and Worship & Praise have recorded several well-received projects since including, "King of Glory," "Live From New York at Lincoln Center," and "We Are at War."

Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson (Verity Records Website Page)
Born and raised in Brooklyn New York, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson is credited with ushering in a renewed interest in traditional Quartet music for the younger sect. He began singing at the age of 5 as a member of the Spiritual Voices, a group that was founded by his father. Soon after he became a member of the world-renowned Harlem Boys Choir. in 1998, Johnson signed with independent label, World Wide Gospel Records and released the critically acclaimed “Through The Storm.” In 2003, Johnson signed with Verity Records through a partnership with World Wide Gospel. His most recent project, "Unity," was released in June 2005. |
Alvin Slaughter (website: www.alvinslaughter.com/)
Brooklyn native Alvin Slaughter's testimony of redemption makes his music ministry all the more powerful. After returning to God and joining the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir in the late 1980's, Slaughter received the call to full time ministry and has traveled the world spreading the good news. On Slaughter's website he is quoted as saying, “My calling is that of a music minister, and leading worship is a large part of what I do. I perform songs that proclaim or ‘preach’ the Gospel, as well as songs that lead us into His presence through praise and worship.”Throughout his remarkable gospel music career, Alvin has received several Dove and Stellar Award nominations. He received an Angel Award in 1997 for "God Can." Alvin’s latest release on Integrity Gospel/ Sony Urban/Provident labels, "The Faith Life" was released September 2005. |
